OUR PURPOSE

At Sardis Baptist Church, we believe our purpose is to love God, serve others, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Below, you'll find more information about what that looks like and how we live it out.  We hope and pray that you and your family will join us on this journey that God has placed before us.

love god

WE LOVE GOD THROUGH GATHERING, GIVING, TEACHING, AND WORSHIPPING

Let us go into His dwelling place; Let us worship at His footstool. - Psalm 132:7

What is worship like at Sardis? First and foremost we seek to point others to Holy God; His risen Lamb; our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout scripture God tells his people to worship Him. Worship is an act of expression of our love and thanksgiving to our Lord. We do not dwell on a certain style or try to tightly define how we worship. If you were going to describe worship at Sardis with a word, the style of worship is multi-generational. We sing traditional hymns, new hymns, new music, contemporary music, and worship choruses as we praise God through music. But most importantly, it is spirit led seeking guidance from God how to best worship Him. Prayer is absolutely vital to our worship. Worship at Sardis is like a picture frame – we point to the true living image of Jesus Christ. The frame never outdoes the picture.

We encourage you and your family to dress comfortably, but modestly. Also, if you have infants or small children, we have a nursery and children's program available during Sunday morning worship services.

We invite you to join us for our worship service on Sunday mornings at 11:00AM.

serve others

WE SERVE OTHERS LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY

H.I.M.

We are partners with a local community organization, called H.I.M. (Hart Interdenominational Ministries) in cooperation with other local churches for the purpose of helping those in financial and physical need within our area.

DISASTER RELIEF:

We participate in Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief, a ministry-based approach to impacting people for the Kingdom of God designed to provide some measure of normalcy for the victims of a disaster event.

CHURCH PLANTING:

Our church has taken a trip to Corning, NY to assist in ministering to people in the area after severe weather destroyed the homes of many who lived there. As we helped repair homes and share the Gospel, we saw that there were very few churches in Corning to minister to the populace after we left. The Hebron Baptist Association has sent a young man and his family to plant an SBC church in Corning, NY, and Sardis plans to make trips there to continue building relationships with the locals, as well as sharing Jesus with the people who live there.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS:

Sardis Baptist Church went on a mission trip to Kantunilkin, Mexico. Consisting of 13 men and women, they were able to complete work on a local church, conduct Bible studies, and provide Vacation Bible School activities to the children in the area. This trip was the second trip to Kantunilkin by our Sardis Mission Team.
